Second Bird Flu Fatality in China Sparks fears of Chinese Epidemic

Chinese authorities have confirmed that a 27-year-old woman died of Bird Flu strain H5N1 on Saturday evening. The death coincides with a further case, as a 2-year-old girl is in critical condition after also having contracted the disease, sparking further fears of an epidemic in the country. The latest human infections has caused renewed health and hygiene advice from Chinese authorities, strongly recommending contact with poultry and poultry areas be avoided, especially by children, and that protective masks and gloves be worn when contact is a necessity.
