Culling has continued to rise in India’s bird flu affected regions of West Bengal and Assam. The government is attempting to stamp the disease out, whilst simultaneously running it’s awareness campaign, to try to prevent the deadly disease from returning. The initial culls in Assam began in December with a further outbreak in West Bengal this year. Cull numbers have continued to rise throughout with the latest figure placed at 483,726 by the animal husbandry department, in India.
