Bird Flu Returns to Hong Kong

Hong Kong has confirmed the presence of the H5N1 strain of Avian Influenza, in excrement samples taken from a local poultry market in Kowloon. The disease outbreak has lead to the cull of 2,700 poultry animals, and a restirction of trade from the Chinese mainland, where bird flu has broken out recently, as well as suspending trading from local chicken farms. Officials have warned the trading ban could last for up to 21 days.
